New, Broader Green Vehicle Discount Program Providing members with loan discounts on the growing variety of environmentally friendly cars.
We were among the financial trendsetters for environmental responsibility with our launch of a 0.50% discount for hybrid vehicles two years ago. To keep up with technology were are expanding our program to include the wave of electric and compressed natural gas cars hitting dealership floors.
We will also continue to offer a 0.25% discount on loans for non-hybrid cars or motorcycles that get 30 miles or more per gallon.
“Part of what separates credit unions is the understanding that good financial practices are about more than bottom-line dollars and cents,” said Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. “Green vehicles are a vital, growing part of the planet’s future, and any small thing we can do to encourage this trend while still meeting priority one – supporting our members -- is an easy call.”
Combine these discounts for maximum savings.
0.25% for automatic payment from a HFCU checking account
0.25% for a 10% down payment
0.50% for a 20% down payment
0.25% for any non-hybrid car or motorcycle that receives a combined miles per gallon rating of 30 mpg or more as determined by the U.S. Department of Energy and published at www.fueleconomy.gov
0.50% for a Hybrid vehicle (This discount can be over and above the maximum discount.)
Active Duty members in the U.S. Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard or Active Reserves) can get 0.25% discount for loans on new and used vehicles. Spouses and retired military personnel are not eligible.
The above discounts can be combined for up to 0.50% off our standard loan rate. The maximum discount is 0.75%.
