It’s no great revelation to say that 2020 was a unique and difficult year for most of us. Few could have predicted how the spread of COVID-19 would come to define the year, both in terms of its immediate and unprecedented impact on the economy and in how it challenged our everyday lives.

As we look forward to life post-pandemic, I do so with a hopeful eye. Promises of a widely available vaccine and the ability to return our operations to normal are both optimistic signs for how we expect the next year to play out. Based on our performance in 2020, I’m confident that Hanscom FCU will continue to thrive.

Despite COVID, our employees and volunteers achieved so much in the last year, using our values of Members First, Integrity, Teamwork, Innovation, and Empathy to guide us:

  • We moved our branch in Beverly to a new storefront location on 50 Dodge Street.
  • We made changes to our remote deposit service so that it’s available to more members and increased ATM withdrawal limits.
  • Our charitable arm, Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation, held a safe and successful Alan M. Hart Memorial Charity Classic at the Red Tail Golf Club in Devens when many other events had to be canceled.
  • We also completed the most successful cash raffle campaign we’ve ever held to raise money for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.

As we enter our new normal, I want to thank you for the continued membership and support you showed over the last year. Every day we’re appreciative that you’re part of the Hanscom FCU family so we can continue to serve your best interests. We look forward to the coming year and what the future holds, helping you meet all of your financial goals.

Sincerely,

Ray T. Phillips
