The Hanscom Air Force Base annual Giving Tree once again demonstrated the kindness and generosity of the community. As a result of the outreach program, 50 children from 24 families will receive new winter clothing for the holidays.

“It’s great to know that so many military families get the gifts that they really need,” said Mike Rzeszutek, Hanscom FCU Assistant Vice President of Sales and Training and coordinator of this year’s Giving Tree program. “The continued community support is what this season is all about. Being part of this program every year brings a smile and joy to my heart.”

The Giving Tree, located at the Base Exchange, has been part of the holidays at Hanscom Air Force Base since 1990. The tree is decorated with ornaments, each with details about the winter needs of a child. Volunteers select ornaments from the tree and fulfill the needs by donating new, unwrapped items for first sergeants to deliver. Donations will be delivered before the holidays and winter school break.
