Hanscom AFB, MA (November 20, 2019) – Frank Ferdinand, Service Desk Agent for Hanscom Federal Credit Union, was named the credit union’s Cushman Award winner for 2019 at their annual employee appreciation dinner on Saturday, November 16.

At the presentation of the award, Hanscom FCU President/CEO David Sprague explained that Ferdinand was nominated “for his outstanding commitment to helping all of us with our technology needs” and for personifying the spirit of the credit union movement.

Several testimonials from colleagues’ vote submissions highlight exactly why Ferdinand earned the honor. One wrote, “Frank saves the day. Maybe he is just lucky to always receive my tickets, but he does such a great job making sure that everything is resolved and that I have the tools I need to do my job.” Another mirrored this sentiment and summed it up well: “Frank is a great asset of the IT Service Desk Team. He is extremely thorough, patient and professional”.

The Cushman Award is named for former long-time board member John Cushman, whose unwavering focus on our members’ well-being still impacts credit union employees. Nominees are selected through the credit union’s quarterly Employee Extraordinary Service Program (ESP) Award voting, where employees nominate fellow employees for their outstanding service. Sprague concluded the presentation by reflecting on its origins, “Frank has certainly continued the legacy of service for which he was honored”.
