Hanscom AFB, MA (Dec. 22, 2020) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union collected new and unwrapped children’s toys in collection boxes set up at nine Hanscom FCU branches across the state. The toys were donated to the United States Marine Corps Reserves’ annual Toys for Tots drive and will be delivered to local children who need some hope and joy this holiday season.

“The holidays are a wonderful time of year for many, but for some this is a challenging time of year full of need. Need for shelter, for food, for warmth or for joy,” said Hanscom FCU chairman Ray Phillips. “We’re very focused on ways we can help relieve some of the need in our community. The pandemic has made this need even greater this year, and we hope that these gifts are able to bring these children and families some much needed joy this season.”

Toy collection boxes were set up at the Billerica, Bedford, MITRE Bedford, Burlington, Brockton, Devens, Littleton, South Bay, and Main Office (Hanscom AFB) branches.

Since 1947, the United States Marine Corps Reserve has conducted the Toys for Tots program nationwide. Beginning in November of each year, toys are collected to donate to children at need who need some hope and joy in their lives.
