Hanscom AFB, MA (Mar. 25, 2021) – Hanscom FCU recently concluded their #BuildHope campaign with a $1,000 donation going to Great Divide Animal Rescue. Runner-up organizations Kiva, Mental Health America, and Girls Who Code each received a $500 donation. With the goal of spreading joy to our community and lifting up worthwhile organizations, #BuildHope led to 124 $10 employee donations made to 33 different organizations chosen by Hanscom FCU employees. The final total donation amount topped $3,700.

To encourage others in the Hanscom FCU community to #BuildHope in our communities, employees were each offered $10 to donate to a charity of their choice. Employees were also offered the opportunity to turn their $10 donation into $1,000 by creating a short video why they chose their cause, with four chosen as finalists. The finalist videos were shared on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and the general public voted for two weeks to decide which finalist would receive the $1,000 donation.

“We wanted a way to not only do something kind for our members but also for our employees,” said Ray Phillips, Hanscom FCU’s chairman of the board. “While we make frequent donations to organizations, we wanted to be able to support organizations that are close to the hearts of our Hanscom FCU team. What better way is there to spread some hope than to offer help to those who need it?”
