Hanscom AFB, MA (May 19, 2021) – The Board of Directors of Hanscom Federal Credit Union elected John A. Delcore as the credit union’s chairman. The vote took place immediately after Hanscom FCU’s annual meeting, which was held May 5, 2021. Delcore takes over from Ray T. Phillips, who held the position since May 2019. Also elected to officer positions were Teresa S. Conrad as vice chairperson, Raymond A. Kahre as secretary, and Ray T. Phillips as treasurer.

Delcore joined the credit union’s board in March 2003 and since then has served on many board committees. He officially retired in 2019 as both a government logistics management specialist and a contract logistics engineer for the U.S. Air Force on Hanscom AFB. Delcore retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a colonel after 38 years of active and reserve duty, including mobilizations and deployments. For many years he worked at Fort Devens, where he served as the operations and environmental chief for the Department of Public Works and was the union president for the garrison. Delcore holds a B.S. in history from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, and a M.Ed. in organizational management from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.

“John’s experience and longevity with the Board and as a credit union volunteer will serve him well as he takes on this leadership role,” said David Sprague, Hanscom FCU’s president and CEO. “He can be counted on for his directness, his ability to weigh and follow through on decisions, and his skill at bringing people together, whether in the board room or through a program that impacts the financial lives of our members.”

Delcore has been a volunteer firefighter for the Ayer Fire Department for many years and now volunteers as its Community Response Team lead. He and his wife Valeri have a son, a daughter, and three beautiful granddaughters.
