  • How do I sign up to make External Transfers?

    External Transfers is a feature of our Online Bill Payment Service. You may make transfers to and from accounts that you own at other financial institutions. To begin using Transfer Money:

    1. Log in to Online Account Access
    2. Click on "External Transfer" under the Transactions Menu
    3. If you are already enrolled in Bill Payment, click on the Transfer Money tab to begin setting up External Transfers.
    4. If you are not enrolled in Bill Payment:
      1. Review and submit the Bill Payment registration form. If the information on the registration form is not correct, contact us for instructions on how to update your personal information.
      2. Your Bill Payment application will be approved immediately.
      3. Click on "Get Started, "Go to Payment Center" then "Transfer Money" to begin setting up External Transfers.
  • How do I set up an external account?
    You may make transfers to and from accounts that you own at other financial institutions. To set up an account at another financial institution:

    1. Log in to Online Account Access
    2. Click on "External Transfer" under the Transactions Menu (You may need to click on "Get Started, "Go to Payment Center" then "Transfer Money" if you are an infrequent Bill Payment user.
    3. Click on "Add an Account" under "Transfer Money With Other Financial Institutions"
    4. Complete the form and click "Add Account"
    5. Wait 2 business days for two test deposits and one test withdrawal to be made to your account at the other financial institution
    6. Find and enter the amounts of the deposits on the Transfer Money page
    7. The account you set up will now show up in the From and To drop down menus under "Make a Transfer"
  • How do I set up my primary savings and secondary checking accounts at Hanscom FCU?
    You may set up your primary savings (account 1) and any secondary checking account for use in Transfer Money. Here's how:

    1. Log in to Online Account Access
    2. Click on "External Transfer" under the Transactions Menu (You may need to click on "Get Started, "Go to Payment Center" then "Transfer Money" if you are an infrequent Bill Payment user.
    3. Click on "Add an Account" under "Transfer Money With Other Financial Institutions"
    4. In the Routing Number field, enter Hanscom FCUs routing number: 211380483
    5. For your primary savings account: In the Account Number field, enter your member number with no leading zeros and no postfixes.
    6. For your secondary checking account:
      In the Account Number field, enter the account number as it appears on the bottom of your checks
    7. Complete the rest of the form and click "Add Account"
    8. Wait 2 business days for two test deposits and one test withdrawal to be made to your account at Hanscom FCU
    9. Find and enter the amounts of the deposits on the Transfer Money page
    10. The account you set up will now show up in the From and To drop down menus under "Make a Transfer"
  • What are the limits for how much and how often I can make External Transfers?
    You may make transfers to and from accounts that you own at other financial institutions. Our External Transfer service is managed and regulated by our Bill Payment provider. All limits are set by our provider based on their assessment of the risk of completing a transfer on your behalf.

    The amount that you may transfer at a given time will be displayed next to the Amount box on the Transfer Money screen AFTER you complete your first transfer. We recommend you make a small initial transfer in order to familiarize yourself with the service.
