The Detect Safe Browsing App Will Be Going Away on June 22

On June 22, 2022, Hanscom FCU will no longer be supporting Easy Solutions Detect Safe Browsing, something you may have previously installed on your computer. The functionality of the app is replicated in most major antivirus/security software on the market, which can cause some conflict issues.

We are asking our members to uninstall the Detect Safe Browsing from their computers prior to June 22.

Your accounts are still protected! Hanscom FCU and Easy Solutions are still providing account protection via:

  • Detect Safe Browsing Clientless on our website
  • Detect Safe Browsing built into the mobile app

Here's what you should do:

  • Make sure your computers have the latest versions of antivirus/security software installed and set your software to update automatically when a new version is released.
  • Uninstall the Detect Safe Browsing app from your computers if you've installed it in the past. PC and Mac uninstall instructions are below.

Instructions to Uninstall Detect Safe Browsing

Windows Uninstall
1. Click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of your screen
2. Click on the Settings icon
3. Click on Apps
4. Scroll down to and click on "Detect Safe Browsing"
5. Click Uninstall, then click Uninstall again
6. Click Yes (if needed)
7. Enter the text shown in the image, then click "Proceed with uninstallation"
8. Select "Yes, restart now" and click Finish

Mac Uninstall
1. Open a new finder window
2. Search for "Detect Safe Browsing"
3. Double-click on the item named "Detect_Safe_Browsing.dmg"
3. Double-click on "Uninstall DSB"
4. Click Open
5. Enter the text shown in the image, then click "Proceed with uninstallation"
6. Click "Ok"
7. Click "Accept"
