LITTLETON, MA (June 29, 2022) – Elaine C. Jones, Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s Vice President, Branch Administration, has announced her retirement, effective June 30, 2022. She has been with Hanscom FCU for almost 20 years, during which time she has led and mentored branch managers and employees, who will miss her and the professionalism she has brought to their teams.

Jones began her career with Hanscom FCU in 2002. Hired to manage the credit union’s first retail branch in Bedford, MA, Jones focused on ensuring the member experience remained a positive one. As a result, this branch has remained one of the well-trafficked with members. Her dedication to the role resulted in a quick promotion to Hanscom FCU’s first-ever Vice President, Branch Administration, in 2003, where she became instrumental in growing fewer than ten branches to 22 branches with varying business models in two states.

“Regardless of her title, Elaine has always remained true to her underlying commitment to our members, the Hanscom FCU team, and to our mission,” said Jim Potter, Hanscom FCU’s Chief Operating Officer. “Elaine has brought a level of professionalism and a members-first mindset to this charge that reverberates through everything we do today.”

Not only has Jones been an effective manager throughout the years, she could always be counted on to volunteer her time at various charitable events. Whether it was preparing blankets for donation to those without homes, filling backpacks with school supplies for at-risk children, or serving meals to military families in town seeking medical care at local VA hospitals, Jones has been there with her sleeves rolled up, with a ready smile and a kind word to lighten the load on those whose burdens are greater than most.

Because Jones has been such a powerful, positive force among everyone at the credit union, employees and members alike, Hanscom FCU created the Elaine Jones Sales Innovator Award in 2022, an annual award given to a branch employee who does an outstanding job finding ways to help members save more money by directing them to the right accounts or financial tools they need.

“My happiest time here at Hanscom FCU has been developing people and watching them grow and prosper in their careers,” said Jones. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the credit union experience and will miss my co-workers as I move on to another chapter.”
