If you’ve ever visited a library, gone to a school, or been to the hospital, you can thank a volunteer for their contributions. Most civic organizations and communities rely on volunteer help to accomplish their goals. Hanscom Federal Credit Union, being a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, is no different and relies heavily on its volunteers.

At the heart of the credit union is our volunteer-based Board of Directors. Board members are elected by the members and are responsible for governing the credit union and representing all members.

The Supervisory Committee, another volunteer group, ensures that the credit union's financial records are accurate and that policies and procedures are in place to safeguard members’ interests.

Lastly, the Member Advisory Group consists of a cross-section of members who gather four times a year to share feedback with the Board and senior management about our products and services. These volunteers act as a sounding board for new ideas and receive updates about new programs and services.

What do you get when you volunteer? You’ll gain a greater understanding of how your credit union operates, which is useful knowledge for any member. You’ll also get to interact with other volunteers at meetings and special events.

The Member Advisory Group is always looking for new members and is considered the first step in the credit union volunteer journey.  We encourage you to take this initial step and volunteer with Hanscom Federal Credit Union. Visit our application page today
