The Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation made a $10,000 donation to sponsor the 2018 Run to Home Base on Saturday, July 28, 2018. The annual 9K run and 5K run/walk at historic Fenway Park raised money for Home Base, which provides clinical care to veterans, service members, and their families. Runners and walkers concluded the event with the unforgettable experience of crossing the finish line at Fenway’s home plate.

Two Hanscom FCU employees, Collin Victorine of the Natick branch and Elizabeth Kistoglou of the Billerica branch, participated in the 9K race, coming in at 1:19:56 and 1:19:57 respectively. Jerry Selissen, a Hanscom FCU Advisory Committee member, participated in the 5K walk/run with his grandson, Jacob.

“The health and wellbeing of our nation’s veterans, service members, and their families have always been a priority cause for our Foundation,” said Teresa Conrad, Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation’s chairwoman. “Supporting Home Base and the work they do to heal the invisible wounds of warfare is an honor for us, a way to show our gratitude to the veterans and active duty military who’ve paid a heavy price serving our country.”

The mission of Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program, is to heal the invisible wounds for veterans, service members, and their families through world-class clinical care, wellness, education, and research.
