Jim Potter and Mike Rzeszutek (seated, middle and right) of Hanscom FCU were honored on April 28 as Credit Union Rising Stars at a breakfast event during the Great New England Credit Union Show.
The Credit Union Rising Stars award recognizes the brightest and most vibrant young credit union employees in the region. The winners not only excel in the industry, but they also have significant potential to leave their mark in the future.
Jim Potter, SVP Operations, has been a senior manager at Hanscom FCU since 2002. His responsibilities include branch and back office operations, credit card services, financial services, physical security and training.
“My success comes from seeing what needs to happen and building the organizational structure to get it done,” Potter observed. “My basic belief is that once you know what you want to do, get out there and do it.”
Mike Rzesutek, sales manager, came to Hanscom FCU in 2013. In this newly-created position, Rzeszutek coaches Hanscom FCU employees and provides tools and resources to help them serve members.
“My job is to make everyone else’s job easier to do,” said Rzezsutek. “Whether it’s training, designing tools to help explain and show our product options to members, or giving step by step guidelines of how to do something for uniformity across the credit union, it’s to simply make their jobs that much easier.”
"We spend a lot of time ensuring we have a good operating system for credit unions to grow and thrive. But equally important is ensuring we have the right talent to continue to grow credit unions," said Cooperative Credit Union Association President/CEO Paul Gentile. "Rising Stars is a great program to identify and acknowledge those next leaders that will ensure the system stays strong. I want to congratulate all of this year's leaders. It is a very talented group from a very diverse group of credit unions."
