Hanscom AFB, MA (May 8, 2020) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Hanscom FCU, has donated $5,000 to the Project CommUNITY: 5X5 Food Drive in support of The Greater Boston Food Bank. The Foundation has committed $10,000 to aid efforts designed to help those who are suffering from the economic impact of the disease outbreak.

The virtual food drive has raised over $3 million to provide meals for those struggling with food insecurity and hunger, especially in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. With each dollar providing three meals, the cumulative efforts of this drive will provide over 9 million meals at a time when The Greater Boston Food Bank is seeing more demand than ever before.

Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation’s provides resources to worthy charitable causes, supporting our community by marshaling both human and financial resources and providing assistance where it can do the most good for the community.
