Hanscom AFB, MA (August 25, 2021) – Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine awarded Hanscom Federal Credit Union a first-place gold position in their 2021 survey of the Best Credit Unions in the U.S.

Hanscom FCU received praise for its three free checking accounts that come with perks and the excellent rates it offers its members on other products. The article specifically mentioned the credit union’s Kasasa Cash Back Checking, which gives members 2 percent cash back on debit card purchases, and its Kasasa Cash Checking, with yields of 1 percent on balances of up to $15,000. Its automated savings product CU Thrive (discontinued 9/1/2023), which pays a high rate of interest for one year on monthly transfers from a Hanscom FCU checking account, was also singled out for a mention.

This is the third time the credit union has been selected by Kiplinger’s for the top honor, also receiving it in 2018 and 2019.

“It’s exciting that our innovative, financially sound checking and savings products are getting this kind of national attention,” said David Sprague, Hanscom FCU’s president and CEO. “Our employees and volunteers have done a lot of hard work developing, managing, and promoting these products for the benefit of our members, and it pleases me that Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has once again taken notice.”
